OVERSTRAND MUNICIPALITY
Updated Management Plan for Pringle Bay and Beach Front Management Plan for Betty’s Bay
Invitation for public input on the updated managements plan for the Pringle Bay beach and adjacent dune area and Betty's Bay beach front management plan.
The public meeting for the presentation of the two Management Plans will take place on 21 November 2015 at 16:00 at the Community Hall in Pringle Bay. The Management Plans will be available for inspection during normal office hours (07:45 – 13:00 and 13:45 – 16:30) at the Hermanus, Kleinmond and Betty’s Bay Libraries from 6 November 2015 for public review.
The Management Plans will also be available on the Overstrand Municipal website for viewing from 6 November 2015 (www.overstrand.gov.za).
Interested and affected parties are hereby invited to submit written comments (quoting municipal notice number) with regard to the aforementioned to the Overstrand Municipality, Environmental Section by ordinary mail to PO Box 20, Hermanus 7200; by e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. Species fact sheet and invitation to stakeholders
SANBI hereby invites stakeholders to attend an information-sharing session and mini-workshop. We wish to create an opportunity for those interested, to share their views and for us to develop objectives for a management plan for New Zealand Christmas Tree in Betty’s Bay and the Overstrand.

Security Meeting Followup — 2015
BETTYS BAY RATEPAYERS ASSOCIATION – SECURITY MEETING SATURDAY 3 OCTOBER 2015 – CRASSULA HALL FOLLOWUP
It was pleasing to see the turnout for this meeting. This is an indication of the extent of concern of residents and property owners about the lack of visible policing in our area and SAPS failure to get a handle on the issue of property theft which has reached alarming proportions.

Betty's Bay's Night Sky Quality
In Betty's Bay we talk about light pollution a lot. Not surprising, as here we have something so precious that it needs protection. Over the years I have noticed a decline in the quality of our night sky. Most of the light pollution is in the form of skyglow from neighbouring towns. For the first time I can now measure the amount of intruding light. It has made more sense to me to purchase a Unihedron Sky Quality Meter than a string of pearls.
