This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Dear member, the reason why there was no August newsletter, just in case you were getting concerned that you missed a letter with exciting news, was that the author was on a well-deserved break. If you wish to receive back copies of the three previous newsletters please contact Werner Zybrands at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Last month our first newsletter was sent to you and we trust it was informative and added value to being a member of our association/Ons eerste nuusbrief is verlede maand uitgestuur en dit word vertrou dat jy dit insiggewend gevind het en ook waarde tot jou lidmaatskap gevoeg het.

At a recent meeting it was resolved that members of the BBRA should more regularly be advised of what your Association is doing to promote your interests as a ratepayer.

BBRA members are fortunate to have so much work done on their behalf on a pro bono basis by members of the BBRA Committee. At the same time administrative costs are on an ever-rising trajectory and this applies perhaps in particular to the operation of the Bettys Bay Neighbourhood Watch (BBNW).

In order to promote sustainability of these services which are of fundamental importance to all Betty’s Bay residents and ratepayers, it is proposed that annual membership fees should be raised from R60-00 to R75-00 per person per year. This should enable the committee to focus on their essential administrative/managerial functions without having to spend undue time on fund-raising especially in the context of the operation of the BBNW.

Should this proposal be accepted it will require a change to the constitution paragraph 7(a) which is also placed on the agenda for possible consideration.
