Membership/Lidmaatskap

Membership is open to all residents of the Hangklip area, i.e., Betty’s Bay (including Mooiuitsig), Pringle Bay and Rooi Els, upon payment of an annual membership fee. The fee is currently R30 for individuals whose monthly household income does not exceed R2 000, and R60 for everyone else. We encourage all residents to become members. Your membership fee not only entitles you to enjoy meals at subsidised rates, but also contributes to the provision of affordable services to the needy members of our community.

Madiba is quoted as saying that “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”

The greater Hangklip region is home to some folk who struggle . . . with loneliness, ill health, financial uncertainty and hunger. The Hangklip Community Care Centre (HCCC) in Bettys Bay wishes to make a difference in the lives these people, through offering cooked meals, food supplementation, chronic medicine facilitation, foot care, medical equipment loan, exercise sessions and social gatherings.

To be effective HCCC needs your help through assisting those in need to make contact with HCCC – we need to know them in order to help. Volunteering your time and talents – help spread the load of caring.

Follow Madiba’s example – your life can make a difference in the life of others!
